Here is the cool part of this post. I will take you on a trip back in time to each off those races. Time to step inside my time machine. Hold on tight. Pooooffffffff
We first arrive in New York. It's early 2008 and we are at the Reebok Gran Prix. This is the race that made Usain Bolt a force to be reckon with. He finished the 100m run with a time of 9.72 secs, making him the fastest man in the world.
Let's fast forward 2008 a little bit. It's now August 8, 2008, the beginning of the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The now world knows what Usain Bolt is capable of doing. But many doubt he could run a better time. Bolt took everything in stride and did his thing. His first medal race was the men's 100m. Let see how he did.
I personally think Usain could have finished with a much better time than 9.69. But if he did, what would he have in store for us? His next medal race at the Olympics was the men's 200m race. I think you know how this one ended.
With the world screaming Bolt....Bolt...Bolt....it's time for the mens's 4x100 relay race. And guess who came first. Yep, Jamaica!
WOW. I am exhausted from this time travel. But we still have to go to the 2009 World Track & Field Championships. Hold on!!!!!
Phewww. That was a bumpy ride, but we are here. It's Sunday August 16, 2009 and literally the whole Universe is watching. Tyson Gay brought his "A" game to the race, but it wasn't good enough. Why? Because he is racing against Usain "Lightning" Bolt.
That last video deserves a round of applause. I got goosebumps when I was watching it live. But my body went into shocked when I watched Usain Bolt shatter the 200m world record set by him a year ago.
Lets hop back in the time machine and travel to present day.
As a Jamaican, I'm proud to say that the fastest human ever to walk the face of the earth is from Jamaica. Usain has captured the world by storm and is doing a fantastic job representing Jamaica with a world class attitude. I wish him all the best. "Usain to di wurl".
