Comments reguarding Flanagan High School's recently arrested teaceher

I promised you yesterday that I will be bringing you comments from parents and students of Pete Epstein. Some of these comments aren't the nicest but it's from people like you and me who went to Flanagan.

I think it's absurd that no investigation should be put into mr Epsteins activities during school sponsored trips How can a drug addict be trusted with children when it's obvious he has little regard for his actions. I think mr Epstein needs to be fully prosecuted to show other educators that our publiclly funded schools will not allow a disregard for the law and that drugs are not appropriate. We hammer out children with dare programs and anti drug education and advertisement howevere there sponsor in a class that teaches children how to act in a government can't follow these regulations?

It is just not necessary to investigate this situation but maybe it's smart to also investigate the college trip and New Orleans and all the drinking that occurred. . .I think it's outrageous, ridiculous that he is even still permitted to be in the same grounds of students. . .that he is still even considered to be given his position.

Trust me, this guy deserves every single thing coming to him. He is unprofessional beyond words. What all of you DO NOT know is this is the third time he has been in trouble. He has been investigated for an innapropriate relationship with a female student. He has been written up for misuse of Student Government funds, as well as MISSING funds, likely to support his drug habit. He was investigated for illegal activity on a student sponsored trip to New Orleans. Pictures were sent to the principal proving this activity but were conveniently misplaced at the school. Sadly for Mr. Epstein, another copy was sent downtown and now yet another investigation is under way in reference to this trip. In reference to his teaching, everyone needs to relax because he taught film class, in which more letters were written regarding the R rated movies he showed everyday.

Glad it only took drunk driving and drug possession charges for the administration to realize what a useless scumbag Peter Epstein was. Flanagan High School will be much better off. Although given their penchant for irresponsible hiring, someone equally pathetic will take his place--and I'm saying this as a former FHS student and a former student of Peter Epstein. Peter Epstein's education always seemed to be on par with some of the less intelligent bovine species and his classes tended to be free-for-alls for the students while he flirted with underage girls.Sure, there are some students who looked up to him (mainly the female students in the SGA that he always seemed to have a "close" rapport with) but those without the blinders on saw him for what he really was. But, as I said, Flanagan High School is a long way from being a place where students' education comes first. For every one amazing teacher I had at Flanagan, I had at least five terrible ones. The administration really ought to take a closer look at who they hire.

Oh it's a big deal but I'd like to sit down with any of you that feels they have the right to judge someone else without knowing anything about them. Let's look into your past, pick the biggest mistake you've ever made and then have the newspaper write a story about it so your idiot peers can comment on it. Stop for a moment and think about what they would write about and then tell me if you feel it would paint an accurate picture of the type of person you are??? If you're being honest, I doubt it. I've known him for 25 years and would bet he's better with those kids than most of you parents.

that's so unfortunate. no wonder the senior class officers my year were so damn sketchy. epstein and all the stoop kids all just traded booze and drugs. maybe it's time to investigate those student leaders....starting with the class of 2005. epstein and those girls sure got along...
